Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Didn't somebody from the Administration say, not that long ago, that the concessions we had made up until that point gained them no love in Washington? Are any more going to be any better? I'm waiting for the 'give' from the US side.
The only give is to cut sectoral tariffs down to the lowest levels in American trading world, but thats not a really big give. And it sets the precedent for CUSMA that tariffs are acceptable.

I mean, if he can get a deal, get it, I guess, but I wouldnt lose sleep if either side decides to continue to duke it out.

If there's one thing Canada needs it's more fighting aged males with military experience from hostile countries that are paying Canadian children to shoot up and burn down buildings.

Former Iranian conscripts seeking asylum in Canada fear deportation

Related, we should have a cap on every country of origin, something like 7% like the US has, and within that cap, a limit on the number of unaccompanied men from any country, maybe 25%, with no corresponding cap on families, unaccompanied women and women with children.

So here I go again, making more friends here. Marc Nixon take on the recent political events

(Warning Not Liberal Friendly)

In all seriousness, at least watch the last five minutes on conflict of interest testimony

With a title and thumbnail like that - surely it will be a balanced and fair perspective. Slop like this has ruined the internet, left or right.

AI doesn’t call it Liberal unfriendly, just says this:

This video, presented by Marc Nixon, covers several political developments in Canada, focusing on Conservative Larry Brock's resignation, Canada-U.S. trade relations, and government conflict-of-interest regulations.

Key Topics:
• Larry Brock's Resignation: The host discusses Conservative MP Larry Brock's decision to step down after 18 years (0:05). He argues this move has been unfairly framed by some media outlets as a reflection of Pierre Poilievre's leadership, rather than the result of a difficult political environment (5:23-8:26).
• Canada-U.S. Trade Negotiations: The host analyzes recent reports regarding Canada’s efforts to engage the Trump administration to avoid upcoming 50% tariffs on goods (10:11). He characterizes the Canadian government's approach as a major capitulation, criticizing the reversal on policies regarding American alcohol imports and dairy quotas (13:33-17:59).
• Conflict of Interest Criticisms: The final segment highlights concerns regarding the Conflict of Interest Act in Canada, which the host describes as ineffective. He uses a clip from a committee meeting to argue that current laws allow for widespread financial conflicts among high-ranking officials and calls for stricter divestment requirements (18:42-21:20).

I'm still waiting for any of these news youtube channels to post about anything good happening in canada.

Because all of them were posting videos about recession, yet conspicuously none have posted a single video about recent good economic performances.

It's almost like....they aren't news channels, they are rage bait channels.

Or confirmation bias channels.

just like the CBC with the Tories but reversed. :p

I can post a dozen articles where the CBC is critical of the government.

Is there a slant, yes, clearly so. But they also report the NEWS. Hey, Canada's GDP is up. Hey, Canadas GDP is down. Hey, Canada gained 75k jobs. Hey, Canada lost 100k jobs.

I have been looking for weeks, Juno news, Rebel news, Northern perspective, and thanks to fishbone, moose on the loose, not a ONE will post anything about something good happening in Canada. Canada gains 75k jobs. Crickets. Canada posting 3 percent GDP growth? Crickets. Manufacturing is up? Crickets. But Canada slips into recession by 0.1 percent because we imported more gold than usual and its blanket coverage of how it's the end times.

I would be more inclinded to listen to these perspectives if they at least covered the news. If they want to toss a spin on how 3 percent GDP growth is somehow bad or gaining 75k jobs isn't all that it's cracked up to be, I would give it a listen just to see what their perspective is. But no. They absolutely refuse to even cover good news, it doesn't exist in their world.

But prepare for the flood of videos if canada posts job losses of 25 people, the end it near.

You don't rest on your laurels and gloat. You KEEP it up until improvement is not just marginal, but overwhelmingly noticeable. We are not there yet.
Because all of them were posting videos about recession, yet conspicuously none have posted a single video about recent good economic performances
We are very far from economic recovery. Ver far. We don't celebrate until we get to the objective.

Your "yay us" celebrations are extremely premature.

Slop like this has ruined the internet, left or right.
Or you can look at both sides. If I watch crap like Laura Babcock O show, Rachel Gilmore (who is very anti-Carney now) or the CBC, why can't you watch this "slop" as you call it? How much of what they present is actual facts? Maybe you need to "politically" grow up?

Ignoring bad situations doesn't make them go away.

I am the asshole that when your house is on fire, I will say "your house is on fire".

If you deny it, pretend it isn't happening, decide I am "rage baiting" (ohhh please, that was so Jagmeet 2024, Altair), its not happening, etc. Thats on you.

Yeah, that's not news.
We are very far from economic recovery. Ver far. We don't celebrate until we get to the objective.
Who is talking about celebrating? I'm talking about reporting it.
Your "yay us" celebrations are extremely premature.
Again, posting a video about how canada gained 75k jobs isn't celebrating. It's news.

The fact the channels you watch don't do it means they are simply rage farms, built to keep people angry and misinformed.

I've talked to people who only get their "news" from these sites, they don't even know Canada is performing well economically. They still think Canada is in recession. They think Canada is still sheding jobs. They think the USA is performing miles ahead of us.

These sites don't post news, they are confirmation bias echo chambers that actively seek to make people dumber.

You can say the house is on fire all you want, but you're doing a disservice if you don't inform people the fire is out.

Again, post all you like, it's a free country. But don't think you're above ridicule when people call out the garbage (<----the videos, not your actual posting) you're posting is in fact garbage.

And ignoring good situations doesn't mean they don't exist

cough northern perspective cough cough

Again, posting a video about how canada gained 75k jobs isn't celebrating. It's news.
And the 112,000 Jobs lost early 2026? How about that news? Your reaching for hope again and that is not a plan.
I've talked to people who only get their "news" from these sites,
You obviously don't watch these guys very often. On the news, they quite often share the same info as CBC, CTV, etc. And in many cases, they even show the clips from those news sites. They rarely disagree on the WHAT happened, its the opinions that follow that differ. And yes, CBC, CTV, the legacy media offers plenty of opinions to go with the news stories. Not sure what your argument is.

but you're doing a disservice if you don't inform people the fire is out.
Fire ain't out. Not by a long shot.

I keep hearing Canada is on the road to recovery. We are improving. Its gonna pick up. In Summer 2025. In the fall of 2025. In the winter of 2026. In the spring of 2026. The summer. When?

Before you pin all your hopes on the 76,000 new jobs, its summer. Wait until construction and other summer jobs are over. They do NOT specify in the stats if these are permanent jobs. Now credit to Oil and gas and Alberta, there has been some permanent job growth in that sector. Well done, Danielle.

Before you accuse me of just hating on everything Carney does, know this. I am 100% + happy with where he is taking national defence. Bravo, Mark.

Where did you see that? The Bank of Canada is saying the current forecast is only 0.7% real GDP growth for all of 2026 (followed by a healthier 1.8% in 2027 and 2028)

BoC also estimates average GDP growth of only about 1% during the first half of 2026, and say GDP in Q1 2026 was essentially unchanged from Q1 2025.

And the 112,000 Jobs lost early 2026? How about that news? Your reaching for hope again and that is not a plan.
We have gained 181k since. That's up 69k. Where are your channels news about that? Right, they do not exist.

Once a week, I do the rounds, check the titles and with the ones that do general news, read the AI summury. None of them post anything about recent GDP growth, manufacturing uptick, federal finances being closer to balance, job gains, record foreign investments in Canadian stocks and bonds, nothing, nada, zilch.

You can post videos of them doing this, but I have not seen it.
Fire ain't out. Not by a long shot.
Sure, but we have rebounded from a rough start to 2026. Where are those videos? Right, they don't exist.
I keep hearing Canada is on the road to recovery. We are improving. Its gonna pick up. In Summer 2025. In the fall of 2025. In the winter of 2026. In the spring of 2026. The summer. When?
We are actively doing quite well.

I've posted, others have posted, if you don't want to see it...

Except its's not just june numbers. May was also good, again, we are up 69k jobs on the year. And Danielle smith and Alberta LEAD canada in job losses in june. Quebec and BC lead canada in job gains.

Maybe Northern Perspective should cover that.
Before you accuse me of just hating on everything Carney does, know this. I am 100% + happy with where he is taking national defence. Bravo, Mark.
I don't accuse you on hating everything Carney does.

I'm accusing you of posting slop whos hosts would rather gouge their own eyes out than post a single video on Canada doing anything well.

The Canadian economy is on track for a stronger-than-expected rebound in the second quarter, as oil and gas led growth in May for a second consecutive month.
Article content
A preliminary estimate suggests real gross domestic product expanded at an annualized rate of 3.4% between April and June, according to Statistics Canada’s industry-based output data.
Over the course of the year, hard to say, but last quarter Canada was growing at a 3.4 percent rate.

And to beat a dead horse, channels like Juno news, northern perspective, moose on the loose, rebel, all posted about the recession. NONE have posted a single video on the rebound.
