Or we can call it a spin. That being said, I prefer pragmatic Carney vs work up the Liberal boomer base Carney. Better for us long gameIt’s important to look at the context of who he was talking to, where, and when.
Trump pissed off many when he shot his mouth off but the Liberals with Carney did not hesitate to stoke that fire big time, so they could win an election, and when he slips in the polls, piss on Trump and get the Liberal boomer base worked up. This is politics in the modern INTERNET age, not a smart move.He knows he has limited ability to directly shape the thinking of Trump and his administration
The elbows up crowd (elbozos) are putting you on a wanted dead or alive poster with talk like that. My point being here, is the Liberal propaganda machine deliberately spun up their base against Trump and America. He’s making a case to re-liberalize Canada-U.S. trade to a synpathetic audience, and doing so in a way that his advocacy can be complementary to Trump’s stated economic goals rather than aligning against them.
Good idea, piss off with carbon capture and "net zero garbage and get these pipelines in all directions built yesterday.PM Carney is clearly pushing for a more independent and assertive Canada
NO matter how you say this, I guarantee he pissed off many of his Liberal base. When he said “Canada strong will help make America great again”, I’
Agreed to a point, lets quite dicking around, and make Canada the oil and gas super power. Lot fewer drones and cruise missiles flying around Alberta-BC-USA, etc.The Hormuz debacle has, I think, really driven home the usefulness of geopolitically stable supply chains.
I have heard way too many reputable economist state we need the USA and no matter how many deals we sign or pinky swears (MoUs), we can not undo decades of dependence on the US of A. We need them more than they need us. Now that being said, they are still very energy dependent on us.Just as Canada stands to strategically benefit from expanding our trading partnerships outside of the U.S., we absolutely still stand to benefit by repairing some of the rupture Trump created.
Bottom line, Yeah Carney played election politics to crap all over Trump but its going to be costly crawling to him looking for a deal. The Liberals rarely play the long game.
