Good riddance, he was always an outlier, even if he was in the Green party. I think the environment is obviously hugely important, but he was far too dogmatic and ignored practical realities. They can eliminate all ICEs tomorrow, and the solutions will still completely rely on petrochemicals, so oil will keep flowing.So, still the same government?

The environment is important yes and we should and must do what we can to clean up harmful gases which, contrary to popular belief does not include CO2. By now everyone has read that the forecast devastating increase in carbon levels isn't going to happen so why are we still going ahead with our self-imposed immolation of our economy yes Carney I am referring to your ridiculous requirement for a carbon capture facility and the continued taxes on a natural gas in our atmosphere. Brien Walsh has to say about his stance over the last decade in the wake of the demise of RCP8.5. “Those numbers shaped a decade and a half of climate journalism, including a lot of my own when I covered climate change at Time magazine. Even if this were true, and I'm not going to spend time digging around settled science, but even if it were true, these two things highlighted are not the same thing.
In case you want to geek out in detail about "urban" vs. "rural" in Canada, this Library of Parliament pub says, basically, "rural Canada" isn't one unitary thing, with no single agreed-on definition, warning that lumping together "rural," "remote," and "northern" (with the three overlapping in some ways) can obscure different realities people are living in those places.

So, you are wall of text mad about the apocryphal scenario not coming through? The climate is obviously changing for the bad in all kinds of ways that are less hospitable in long term ways, so it's not good, just less bad than the worst case scenario.

absolutely not. But that isn't rectified by storing CO2 underground. It would have been better buying scrubbers for coal plants and higher efficiency natural gas products and installing decent water systems in poorer areas. As for apocryphal scenarios Putin in Ukraine and Trump in the middle east are more liable to destroy the world than a small increase in a natural product of the earth. History shows us that the levels have been up before, our severe weather is less than in the past and it is more than in the past; just choose your century accordingly. Oh and more than half of the British temperature increases come from weather stations that either don't exist or that have an error of +- 5 degrees C.
If a flat earther is one who believes in natural processes and that true science is based upon proving itself wrong I plead guilty and I thank you for the complement. That is why every statement out of science is prefaced with the word theory.
RCP/SSP 8.5 was just a high emissions scenario, its been pretty much disregarded for the last 10 yrs or so as we havent followed that emissions pathway and no one ever thought we were going to
