Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

So do the less than 50 percent not count? Or are we to assume that every single person voted for party and not individual? Or are we to assume that nobody has changed their minds since then?

Im not going to sit here and defend first past the post, but in terms of how things work, there are many constituents, who voted for many reasons, not simply because of party, and not all of them may be of like mind today

Anti-vax, opposition to aspects of LGBTQ+ policy, "traditional family values", pro freedom convoy, strong supporter of Oil & gas sector, conservative MP suddenly "listens to Liberal and NDP constituents" and has a change of heart. That's a Hallmark movie in the making.

How bad are things in the CPC that someone like that comes to the conclusion that the LPC is better?

I think we are seeing something unprecedented in Canadian federal politics. 4 floor crossers from one party, 1 from another in a year.

Last time we saw movement like this was what, 1990? 6 conservatives, 2 liberals to form the Bloc Québécois? And that was after the failure of Meech Lake.

So either Carney is that good, or PP is that bad or Trump is causing a seismic shift in Canadian politics on par with Meech lake or a combination of all three.

I'm going to go with a combination of all three.

I’d say a mixture of all 3 as well.
Carney can’t walk on water. PP doesn’t seem to be the boogie man and Trump, well he is what he is.

As long as you recognise you are saying that people are crossing the floor in unprecedented numbers because Carney cannot walk on water and PP isn't a boogie man.

Seems to be weird reasons to cross to the floor, but that might just be me.

“It’s just hard to see how any province could separate from Canada with its existing borders attached if Indigenous people of that province are opposed,” he said.

It’s not a formal veto, Macfarlane said, “but it would flow from an application and a recognition of the treaty system as part of the Constitution. And if a province can't unilaterally tear up a treaty, which we know they can't, then they are at the very least indirectly prevented from secession.”

I would find it incredibly hilarious if this half baked nonsensical temper tantrum being lead by Jeffrey Rath accidentally kneecaps the Quebec sovereignty movement.

In a weird roundabout way, Jeffrey Rath and Danielle Smith might end up strengthening Canada for generations.

Maybe there’s a sense of the need for a ‘Unity’ style government right now.

Can someone explain to me why the Liberals are spending $27 Billion + on consultants? That is ridiculous

Pierre Poilievre on Juno news Live tonight.

Boogie man requires people to be afraid of him, we all said in January, Pierre winning his leadership review would be the best gift to the LPC. Well, here it is

Here is a suggestion.

How about Mark Carney go on Joe Rogan and/or Diary of a CEO podcast? Anyone?

Consulting is the new version of mafia money laundering....
I am in the wrong business. I should be a "consultant" for the government. I charge the low and easy fee of $50,000 per 8 hour consultant session

I can detail to the federal government how to increase the overall popular perception amongst the national Canadian population by utilizing communication engagement techniques that catalyze general distrust of foreign leaders such as presidents of unpopular republics and other political parties that challenge our policies on economy, crime, energy and immigration. This will allow the government to expand potential and unfound opportunities to open new methods and techniques of communication to engage a maximal number of Canadians from coast to coast to coast in order to influence and persuade their personal desire to permanently select the only effective political party that truly offers opportunities to unleash their potential and catalyze the efforts of all Canadians.

My word salad.

Or it has nothing to do with the CPC being ‘bad’ and everything to do with opportunism. Crossing the floor without a by election isn’t a high bar for principled decisions. Could be they simply want more access and power for themselves. Maybe curry favour with a certain misunderstood trading partner.

He's going to spend the time Carney is in office calling out unethical and shady behaviour. Would you rather see a meek opposition leader who doesn't call that stuff out? Poilievre may not be able to do anything about it but at least Canadians will be informed and can't act like they didn't know.

I have no problem, but he also has a habit of making mountains from mole hills without evidence

Maybe not a best gift to the LPC but a good gift to Canadians who want transparency and to know what our MPs are doing. Just in time for Carney to smile and shrug.

Now, here I will share this. Mark Carney is the political hot item right now and this could really put him into a favourable position for the up coming three by elections. Nick Nanos has an interesting way of polling

As Warren Kinsella says "What does he do with it?"
