Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

OK, I deleted the other video (the personal insults on her weight were too far) but this one I will share, its attacking Rosie's political views and opinions . Wyatt gets the point across and and the focus is on the CPC MP tearing down Rosie's weak argument

Stellar video. Funny watching her move past any good points the MP makes. She was relentless trying to turn every conversation back to "well something must be going on in the party".

Stubb is in Ottawa this week

Prime Minister Mark Carney will meet in Ottawa this week with Finland’s President Alexander Stubb, in a visit that will mark the first official bilateral meeting between the two leaders.

Carney’s office says Stubb will be in Ottawa on Tuesday and Wednesday, where they will work to deepen trade and defence ties, including for critical minerals, artificial intelligence and quantum industries.

Exactly. Now he can remain willfully ignorant while Carney can willfully ignore it. Certainly Poilievres is the greater sin.

Absolutely not. Carney should be taking action instead of getting cozy with Beijing. His first priority should be protecting our national security from foreign threats instead of protecting shareholder profits of certain businesses greasing Beijing’s palms.

It still does not excuse Poilievre’s willful blindness to shenanigans in his house though.

It disgusts me that we don’t have any leaders who take national security seriously.

Which is exactly where the system went wrong, and the political parties (which, I remind every one are not - repeat - not part of our political system, but private entities seeking power through elections) usurped the power of Parliament: All MP not otherwise in government (meaning members of the council of ministers) are there to hold government to account on behalf of their riding's constituents.

If all Members of Parliament not otherwise PM, Ministers or Ministers without portfolios remembered that, our system would work so much better. Unfortunately, political parties (all of them) and the government in residence (the civil service) have emasculated Parliament to the point where, in majority government, the PM is basically a dictator for four to five years.

How would a PM form and manage a cabinet; and run the Gov if there was no parties ?

The way they used to do: When standing for office, the future MP's explained which person (call him/her leader if you wish) and general ideology they approved of and then, you get the PM selected (yep. They are never elected as PM) by the GG to select his/her cabinet and then get a confidence vote from Parliament.

Or you can got the "original" way of the British and Australian Parliaments: The caucuses have power and a say over government by having the power to decide, at any time, to remove and replace their leader, who then becomes PM immediately upon being called by the king to form a new government (not a month later as in Canadian style turnover period.

The Opposition is there to hold the government to account for their actions. That is what Coop dog does and he is good at it.
That’s only part of the job according to PP on JR - the other part is to be the “government in waiting.” Lotsa politicians would be good at attack dogging, but not so many at the latter bit.

Michelle RG impresses me in interviews, Peter M would be good if he decided to come back (although I suspect the new Team Blue might, in aggregate, find him not quite blue enough compared to his brand of Blue).

For readers who may be interested in discussing it, the 12 April, 2026 , 338 Canada Federal Projection , if an election were held today ,

And yet PM Carney appears uninterested in calling an election to lock in a very solid majority, with a timer reset for the next four years, that would mute the criticisms about gaining a majority through floor crossings. Anyone accusing him of political cynicism and opportunism should take note of that. He appears more interested in keeping Parliament functioning and working with what he's got.

Part of what makes him popular is that he is seen as being serious about getting things done, and not playing silly political games. If he called an election to get a majority, when he is not having issues getting things done as it is, he would play in the CPC's hands. It would be easy to paint him as just like Trudeau calling an unnecessary/unwanted election because he was up in the polls.

While I agree that the CO who knows of fucksters in the battalion and seems to do nothing about them is bad, we'll have to agree to disagree on the badness of the CO who refuses to hear about any potential fucksters in the battalion so he can remain "willfully ignorant" AND not have to explain what he's doing about them while berating other battalions about their fucksters.
