I am in the wrong business. I should be a "consultant" for the government. I charge the low and easy fee of $50,000 per 8 hour consultant session

I can detail to the federal government how to increase the overall popular perception amongst the national Canadian population by utilizing communication engagement techniques that catalyze general distrust of foreign leaders such as presidents of unpopular republics and other political parties that challenge our policies on economy, crime, energy and immigration. How bad are things in the CPC that someone like that comes to the conclusion that the LPC is better?

So either Carney is that good, or PP is that bad or Trump is causing a seismic shift in Canadian politics on par with Meech lake or a combination of all three.

Or it has nothing to do with the CPC being ‘bad’ and everything to do with opportunism. Crossing the floor without a by election isn’t a high bar for principled decisions. Could be they simply want more access and power for themselves. Maybe curry favour with a certain misunderstood trading partner.

He's going to spend the time Carney is in office calling out unethical and shady behaviour. Would you rather see a meek opposition leader who doesn't call that stuff out? Transparency sure, but thats a double edged sword, especially given the issue of his security clearance, and using the average canadians lack of knowing what a ethics screen is to their advantage.

Even Liberals have dropped that line of attack. It had no teeth to it whatsoever, Long before the election when Tom Mulcair (Former NDP leader and former leader of the opposition) came out several times on CTV (generally a more balanced news agency than CBC), and explained why Pierre was smart to DECLINE the NSICOP security clearance.

Jagmeet got that particular security clearance, said there were major concerns and nothing else. Liz May got it and said she was not worried but nothing else.

It was a blatant political trap and of all the things that worked against Pierre, that was not one of them.

Nice try on digging up old irrelevant dirt. Perhaps next you want to take a shot at his life growing up?

So again, I will bring something up. Especially since some here are very partisan and then pretend not to be. Hell, I am biased, I vote CPC and I am pro Pierre. I can live with it though if the party gives him the heave ho.

NOW, lets try doing something truly objective. Carney is 72 hours ish away from a slight majority. That means the opposition parties no longer have the power to bring him down. Only his own party can do that now with the opposition.

While we see major scrutiny on the CPC, and from the same crowd, next to zero scrutiny of the actual governing party,, lets flip that around.

START judging the soon to be majority Liberal government, for someone of you for the first time ever. The government is the actual ones responsible for policies, bills being passed, governing the nation and whoa, RESULTS.

How about we try that? Deeds not words.

On the floor crossers, the final argument will be solved in those five ridings next election. The constituents will give the final judgement, especially if any of the floor crossers actually dare to run again in the same ridings.

Did he back that up with any actual facts? Was he rolling up 15 years of spending and dropping in contractor support (which is totally different than straight consulting).

PP is spending around $140k a year the last few years on consultants just from his office (with the gap while he was out of office), so does that count towards LPC consultant spending?

If he has some receipts, sure, but he's far too loose with context in his claims to take it seriously.

Except he doesn't know anything if he's not getting the security briefings, and getting the security briefing would in no way stop him from talking about topics that are already in the public realm.

It's such a massive red herring, and everyone on here regularly talks about things they have deeper knowledge on the high side while sticking to what's open source already, so weird people with actual clearnances and experience in that kind of thing buy into it.

He's basically just talking out of his ass, and pretending getting a clearance and info briefing would somehow muzzle him, it's asinine. If he's not going to get a clearance, fine, but then he should just STFU about the things he's not getting briefed on.
