delight in eating apples
That was the interview where Poilievre called out the bullshit "people are saying" reporter right? Guy who couldn't say who was actually saying anything?

delight in eating apples
Agreed, but …Good question. Knowing and not acting is worse.
… I can’t remember seeing the “None so blind as those who will not see” principle in any list of good political leadership traits, either.Welcoming them with open arms in a move to obtain a majority government is double worse.
I deleted the video. Some of his insults were a little over the line. The other insults (about Rosie missing obvious political cues) were more on point.
That being said, I couldn't find the original snippet on CBC, only as part of a longer (much longer) video.

I'm not going to say that this is all PP fault(although I suspect his team pushed that clip hard for the base), but what came from that interview? That was the interview where Poilievre called out the bullshit "people are saying" reporter right? Guy who couldn't say who was actually saying anything?
Yes. Carney looking the other way at foreign interference in his party, and crossing the floor to join his party fits the bill.… I can’t remember seeing the “None so blind as those who will not see” principle in any list of good political leadership traits, either.
Not gonna happen, both made it clear they are done with politicsAmbrose, or Raitt,
Whats wrong with Cooper? He always hammer people with facts.Cooper
A shame as the country and the conservatives could use those serious people in their party. Not gonna happen, both made it clear they are done with politics
He's good at being an attack dog. Great for the base. He's not the guy I see being able to compromise or move the party towards the center.Whats wrong with Cooper? He always hammer people with facts.
The Opposition is there to hold the government to account for their actions. That is what Coop dog does and he is good at it.

To me, it was, hey, look at how PP owns this reporter. Look at how cool he is dismissing this reporter while chomping on an apple.
Which, if your goal is to be a successful owner of the libs, bravo, well done.
If your goal is come across as a serious leader of a major political party and maybe leader of the country, no, not a success.
But when it comes to performative nonsense like that or a serious Conservative, again, Chong, Ambrose, or Raitt, the CPC base will just pick Cooper or someone of that ilk to replace Pierre and call it a day.
Michael Chong would be a great replacement...But CCP in China will do anything and everything to torpedo his chances.I'm not going to say that this is all PP fault(although I suspect his team pushed that clip hard for the base), but what came from that interview?

Politicians deal with unethical journalists all the time. That framing feels more like interpretation than evidence of impact.
The clip showed him challenging a vague “people are saying” line rather than dodging a concrete claim. Whether that reads as “serious leadership” or “performative” is subjective, but it’s not really the same as substantiating policy or competence either way.
Poilievre was right to call him out. It's telling when someone is more upset over the apple than the journalists clear inability to identify any actual sources. Which do you think is a bigger problem in Canada? A mouth full of pome or unethical journalism?
Your stuck in the past and you DO NOT follow parliamentary Q and A or committee. Its obvious. Cooper always comes aggressively and with loads of facts and numbers. That is your issue if that upsets you..A shame as the country and the conservatives could use those serious people in their party.

He's what PP was before PP became leader.
It's funny, because in 2015, i was saying the same thing. PP had better not be leader because his attack dog style would just spook those on the left.
Cooper is a great attack dog.Your stuck in the past and you DO NOT follow parliamentary Q and A or committee. Its obvious. Cooper always comes aggressively and with loads of facts and numbers. That is your issue if that upsets you..
Carney just answered the question and moved on. Didn't make a big performance about it. Definately didn't eat an apple.
Hey, if you liked the way he went about it, that's fine. I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm right. You're allowed to like what you like. And sometimes calling out unsupported claims is part of keeping things grounded in facts.
We agree on this. Now I might be wrong. I've been wrong before, like you. It's just my opinion on the matter.
That's a great postHey, if you liked the way he went about it, that's fine. I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm right. You're allowed to like what you like.
I'm just saying, from my perspective, it didn't show the seriousness of gravitas I like to see from a leader of a country.
And i'm not saying he couldn't have called out the reporter. I'm saying I didn't like the way he went about calling out the reporter.
I am going to give Carney some props on this. He has shrugged off some low hanging fruits level insults or baiting pretty good and just moves on.Hey, if you liked the way he went about it, that's fine. I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm right. You're allowed to like what you like.

Hey, I've been plenty wrong before. We agree on this.
Not often I say this.
recceguy said:So, for all the Harper Haters, what if the CPC won again and six months in the PM retires after a leadership convention and the new leader takes over.
Would that make the CPC more palatable? I think there are a lot of people that aren't even aware, one iota, of the various platforms and issues. Their only commonality and reason for voting is they don't like Harper.
They're willing to risk all kinds of financial woes, possible economic failure, maybe four years of irreparable damage, etc simply because they want to punish one man.
Watch what you ask for, you just might get it...
