Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

I don't think there is much of a trick to it. They could prob dust off some older, pre-2015, manuals on it and be quite successful.

The LPC spent a decade doing it very stupidly. And in the face of that, the Canadian voters have indicated they trust the LPC to have another crack at it. Should be fun.

Yeah. Down side of not doing it intelligently is when creates a feedback loop. Particularly when our population growth is faster than the expansion of housing and public infrastructure.

Sure. However we now have a vastly more economically literate and focused PM, and a distinctly different ministry. They’re all well aware of the political hazard immigration policy presents. I would be surprised if our immigration policy going forward isn’t much more firmly pragmatic and based on the national interest.

My aren't you optimistic.

Nah, I’ve just paid attention to actual policy changes that have already happened, and what they’ve signalled in terms of intent going forward. It’s all been coherent so far, and consistent with what we would expect of a government led by an experienced macroeconomist who understands the imperatives of population growth.

First, the claim that they "got a handle of the population increase" (permanent and temporary) is being challenged. More than a few political pundits have said stats can is not as forgiving as the government would like.
Nothing has been done about our joke of an asylum system and we still have a major back log, the government could easily introduce a bill to move it along quickly, especially when its broadly known most asylum seekers are bogus.

Any population growth MUST be tempered with home growth, sustainable job growth (NOT every immigrant should be shoved into fast food or chain stores) and infrastructure upgrades, including health care system (which is way overloaded).

Hey remember that Pierre guy who suggested we allow a system to recognize more international standards for medical doctors and nurses? Last election, you know, it was like a part of his platform most of you overlooked. Thats one example of a win-win, population growth and health care growth at the same time.

But keep ranting elbows up. From what I see, fuck all is being achieved in terms of actual results.

I donmt really care what pundits say about immigration statistics. What do the statistics actually say?

Did you just completely memory hole Bill C-12 or something?

Agreed. Most of which is provincial purview, so there are tensions there.

I remember him, yeah, he was my MP before he was unemployed for a bit but then meritocracied his way back into the house (the one he did vacate; not the one the taxpayers kept tucking him into bed in). It’s still not clear to me how he proposed to federally wedge his way into the reality that doctors and nurses are provincially regulated and licensed. The platform, some of us noticed, was thin in details on many planks.
But keep ranting elbows up.
You’re free to attempt to show myself and the studio audience playing at home where I’ve ever uttered that. I’ll even give you a hand checking: Search results for query: “Elbows up”

From what I see, fuck all is being achieved in terms of actual results.
Noted. I’ll make sure to give your political observations their due weight.

Spoken like a civil servant. No imagination.

Federal government controls funding via Canada health act and can collaborate/cooperate with provinces to make this happen and/or pressure them by reducing funding. Their is a whip and a carrot method to make something happen.

provincial purview,
There is plenty of Federal-Provincial interaction here. On housing alone, there are now 2 federal government agencies (bureaucracies to be more accurate) dealing with housing, and still sweet fuck all getting done. Keep defending the Liberal results because "the well dressed, well spoken" banker is in charge.
You’re free to attempt to show myself
Damn, you wasted time on that? Sorry for your time loss. Most just ignore me when they feel I have said something right out of left field.

Lets be honest, your still cheering on PM MC, THAT I can find many post of you openly supporting these brand of Liberals. When they totally shit the bed, just like the Trudeau era gang (which, they mostly are), I will be sure to show you that as well. Results matter, Brian. We have plenty of announcements and plans and grand ideas, but still we are losing jobs, companies, opportunities and money to the southern neighbor. The one who Carney promised as a major campaign platform he could get a deal.

I stand by what I said, deeds not words.

I have mostly stayed off here because I am watching these conversations go around and around in circles. Keep voting the same party, keep expecting more failure.

It’s not my job to imagine his election platform. It was his job to present it convincingly and to explain how he would go about solving problems he would purport to be able to solve. He was unsuccessful in doing so, didn’t get the promotion, and lost his job. That was a failure in several things, none of them ‘imagination’.

You believe that’s what motivates my political views? Fashion sense and speaking skills?

It takes about ten seconds to enter a search and copy and paste it.

If you still think there’s a good faith, mutually beneficial deal to be had with Donald Trump, that we could actually rely on not to be breached as soon as he feels like it, I just don’t know what to tell you.

And yet there you were, replying to my post. And here we are.

Mutually beneficial? Ohhhh no, that opportunity passed. If it ever was. At this point, we are stuck in the yard with a large grizzly bear. We don't want to be here and we sure as hell could think of better situations, but we need to deal with this damn grizzly or we are gonna get shredded. Throw him a steak or something, give him something to be happy.

We need to give the Orange man something, or we are going to really feel the pain, and its easy for those not in private sector to say "lets stand our ground".

Open your eyes, its rather obvious. The more Trump speaks and Carney flips him the bird, the higher in the polls he gets. But its always a temporary effect.

Fashion sense and speaking skills?
Enlighten me. What tangible RESULTS has he got show? Not announcements, plans or MoUs.

“Mostly stayed off” says the self-proclaimed asshole. 🤣 Satellite imagery of your place would show plenty of circles. 😆

Even when example of cooperation and signed agreements between Feds and provinces and Feds and other nations (1.5B market access and growing exponentially), you say with a straight face that there is nothing to show yet, so there literally is no point to provide factual substantive progress because it will get the fake news treatment.

How about someone prove that at this point, we would have been better off with Poilievre as PM. Don’t forget the receipts…we’ll wait.

Could of, would of, should of. No one can prove something that didn't happen in the past. And you know it.

Nice try to take the spotlight off of Carney. I am saying lets start judging him on RESULTS. Lets hear it. Another oil pipeline announcement today, ANNOUNCEMENT, thats all. A few weeks before Alberta has their vote to decide if they should have a referendum. Timing.

Please list the results of the current Prime Minister.

Ya, ya, ya, I get it, its more "rage baiting" or an opinion from the other side of the aisle.

David covers some very concerning issues regarding the Global Transition Fund (Carney is very involved in), its at 17:30 in the video.

We don't need global elites lecturing us to eat greens and not meat and similar bullshit.

Convenient.

Listed by myself and many before, but fell into the ‘Not a result/fact in ArmyRicks eyes’ machine. I guess we’ll have to wait until Poilievre is elected PM and Carney can go off and write his memoirs and we can compare his purported accomplishments with the receipts. See you in three years. 🫡

I trucking hate to sound like Korey Teneycke, I find him insufferable, but he's not wrong.

Here is another example of Canadians willing to vote conservative. CPC pay trucking attention it's your leader.

*I'm trying to swear less. Forgive me.
I’d be cautious putting too much stock in ‘Charestiste’ tweets. That’s a self-disclosed kid (17 I think?) whose ‘modelling’ can be rather fanciful at times.

Not to suggest BC NDP don’t have problems. Their blunder is probably going to fall somewhere between merely ‘hilarious’ and ‘politically epic’.

More like in the Venn diagram intersecting hilarious and politically epic.
