Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Your last paragraph highlights one of the affordability issues and whether you can afford more children. Or, to be more precise, the myth. You don't need to have a separate bedroom for every child. It would be nice to, but it isn't a requirement, especially when they are young. It actually creates more of a burden on the family, in that it is more to clean, more to furnish, more to pay for.

I didn't grow up with a backyard either. In the part of the world where I grew up, that wasn't a thing. But most families in Canada, consider an individual bedroom and usually some kind of lawn space a minimum requirement. You can argue that our culture is entirely wrong. Go for it. But you're not going to reverse the birth rate decline, if that's the plan.

off the top of my head: baby boomers house size less than 1200 sq. ft. GenX house size was between 1500 and 2000. Millennials are up to 2500. No one can afford anymore so the sizes are going back down but it will take a while. They did it to themselves.

Source please.

Somehow I doubt the cohort with the lowest homeownership rate is only buying 2500 sqft houses. But give me something credible and I'll buy it.

top of my head, I told you. I guess you missed it. Plus I read the real estate and compare the house sizes with the age. Plus I was brought up in Scarborough as a baby boomer and lived in one or two. I have watched subdivisions being built and seen the average size increase proportionately with time. I can drive around the different neighbourhoods now and see the size of the house compared to the lot and I can read the advertising billboards for developments for luxury towns starting at 2000 sq. ft and detached at 2500. How many examples do you need or does it have to be a product of AI before you consider someone elses comments as being of value or perish the thought even true?

and one more unscientific observation. when a 1970s vintage house on a 60 ft. lot sells in the Golden Horseshoe area it is often torn down and replaced by either two semis at the conventional 1200 sq. ft. or by a single home that is in the neighbourhood of 2500 or greater. In both cases there is no delay in occupancy and the original house sells quickly. So someone feels it is worth the gamble in the first place and one or two others have the cash/credit to buy. House prices went sky high because there were more people looking for places to live than there were properties available. That is directly attributable to uncontrolled immigration. High development costs were also contributing factors as was simple greed on the part of the developer.

11 cents a kilo is crazy, $10 a delivery aint bad when some stores might only get one or two deliveries a week. Sure it adds up but its quickly easy to tell which companies are just trying offset costs and which ones may be trying to exploit.

No, but if the neighbour thinks its okay to water and feed his stock on my property, I think I can compensate myself fairly n'est-ce pas?

I am assuming there is some jest here, but...

My advice to you would be to contact your local live stock association.

I know where I am from if you... made use... of someone else's cattle you might find your self in a pickle... barrel.

I know people who have had camps burned down for atving on a snowmobile trail. Rural folks will fix problems, even if they themselves are the problem.

I know live stock theft is a major issue here in southern AB, people aint stealing on mass, but the lone cow or horse here or there. Horses tend to be stolen then sold to slaughter houses before anyone is wiser.

When I was in my early teens a fellow was out jacking on a local road. He shone his light in a field, two eyes glowed back so he pumped a round between them. Realizing it was a family horse he cut the head off and high tailed. The daughter woke in the morning, went to go do her chores with horse and discovered the horrifying scene.

The man was found by the afternoon; and OPP had an extra cup of coffee and doughnut before they responded to the call.

We had a brand new young DNR officer decide he was going to drive into someone's field and walk into their sheds and barn. The bushes started to fire 30-30 rounds into the dirt around him, he smartly GTFO'd. The local head DNR guy showed up later and apologized. The young DNR guy was relocated.

There is a right way and wrong way conduct your self in rural areas. Its all about accountability and respect.

Not surprised. I posted on here 1-2 weeks ago that Amazon was adding a 3% fuel surcharge. Surprised that Door Dash or Uber Eats haven't done the same yet.

Amazon owns most of it's fleet in many areas, otherwise it's contracted out to other delivery companies.

I have serious doubts that a Door Dash or Uber Eats driver would ever see any of that money, it's entirely personal vehicles.

On the East Coast, if you drop lobster traps in someone else's area, best case is you get your trap lines cut. Worst case, you get your boat set on fire.

Don't F with fishermen.

Worse than that old cocky.

I did a hunt a couple years ago near meat cove CB. Non motorized highland moose hunt. I tell you, you listen to the guide and you do what he says. If you F with the locals you're in for trouble and Mounties don't come fast.
